Review by hotel critic
Nestled in the picturesque Clarens, Fairview Cottages offer a serene retreat with stunning mountain views, just a stone's throw away from the village square. The location is perfect for exploring the local shops and dining options, as well as embarking on scenic hikes like the Kloof trail. Our stay in the Eagle View cottage was comfortable and clean, complete with a cozy fireplace and electric blankets for the winter chill. George, our welcoming host, provided valuable insights into the area's attractions, ensuring a memorable experience. While the accommodation exudes an antique charm with its decor and furnishings, it lacks modern amenities like a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi in rooms. The intimate setting and tranquil atmosphere make it ideal for a relaxing getaway, especially for pet owners seeking a pet-friendly establishment. Fairview Cottages offer good value for money, perfect for nature lovers seeking a peaceful escape without breaking the bank.
